In February of 2017, Gallery Apparel was founded by Max Headley, Dylan Saechao, and Justin Wong in Berkeley, California. Though it started as a casual suggestion to sell Dylan's art on tee shirts, the idea quickly grew into a more ambitious goal: to create a platform for local artists who want to use clothing as their canvas.

Today, about 2 years later, we are doing exactly that! Our shirts feature art by Dylan Saechao and Ellerie Mattias, and we are currently looking for a third artist to work with for a release this fall. When developing designs, it's our top priority to be working with artists rather than against them, a philosophy that leads to more artistically original designs as well as fair compensation for the artists who create them. Once a design is completed, we screenprint in-house on high quality, eco-friendly, worker-friendly shirts. Sourcing responsibly and doing all the printing ourselves gives us and the artists ultimate control over the quality of the finished product. When you buy Gallery Apparel you can be proud that you aren't just buying clothing; you're buying sustainable work of art created by a local artist.
